...and not enough time to say them. I could write a novel about what's been happening lately and what's been going on in my life. What I think I'll do is take it in chunks.

My boss took me out for supper today. It was a Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet. If you've read any of my previous posts, you might have ascertained my extreme appreciation for the culinary arts. Yes, a very sesquipedalian way of saying that I like food, but such fine food deserves fine words. (Shout out to Lilli for suggesting the word sesquipedalian.) I was in a state of bliss. Pork, chicken, prawns, beef, rice, ice cream... I could keep listing the delectable goodies I consumed but I might start drooling on my keyboard. Needless to say, my boss is a pretty cool guy. He even addresses me as "your highness". (I'm not lying. He actually does.)

As far as my monkey story goes, I have not been able to work on it much lately, due to my schedule being very busy. Rest assured that I am still working on it and will have it out as soon as I can.

The youth conference that I was at can be summed up in one word. 'Amazing'. The presence of God fell on that building more strongly than I can remember happening before. I'm quite sure that every life in that building was changed, including my own. A HUGE thank you to anyone who lifted up this event in prayer. There are many stories I could share from the conference but I'll keep it at one for now.

On the first night, the speaker put forward a 40 day challenge. The challenge was to ask God if there was anything in my life that was trying to share His rightful place. The challenge was to get rid of it for 40 days. I asked the question and got an answer I was not expecting and I really didn't like it at all. The reason I wasn't expecting it is because I didn't think of it as wrong. In fact, it's what God called me to do, and he called me to be a writer.

He didn't tell me to stop writing altogether (otherwise you wouldn't be reading this.) but what he asked me to give up was my fantasy writing. I have loved reading and writing that genre since early highschool. I have poured enormous amounts of thought, time and passion into the stories that I've been developing for years and God asked me to give it up, not just for 40 days but indefinitely. I had a very hard time saying yes to His request and meaning it.

The reason I had to give it up is because I was writing for me, not for God. From now on, my writing is for Him. This blog is for Him. My own stories will be thrown out. I know that what God will have me write will be so much better than anything I could write for myself but it still hurts. I've been writing about some characters for almost ten years. It's like throwing out an old friend.

Well, that's all for now. I will be sharing more at another time.

May God bless you all!

P.S. I'm still writing the monkey story, so you need not worry. Afterall, it's for God.
