I know that lyrics can be subject to interpretation. The first part is a reflection of how I find myself feeling from time to time. It's that ache that starts in the heart and spreads outward until it threatens to consume me. I'm speaking of loneliness. I feel that I am literally a million miles away from anything that I can call home. I know that there are people around me that are thinking of me and praying for me but there's still that gulf that cuts me off from everyone. During those times, reasons to be joyful are scarce but there's always one reason, no matter how dark and lonely things get.

My Father, who will never leave nor forsake me is right beside me. He loves me more than I could ever fully know. He gave me the right to be called His son. In those times of sadness and heartbreak, He is the one to comfort me and dry my eyes.
