I have my reasons for going to Africa. There's a bit of story behind it though.ย
*edit*
You know, I spent the last 30 minutes writing the story and after reading it, I thought to myself "Wow, that was VERY boring!" Rather than give a detailed account, I'll highlight a few of the main points. If you want details, feel free to ask for them. If you want food, MAKE IT YOURSELF!
Doorways.
Quite simply, life is made of these. One part of your life leads to another. When God is nudging you in a certain direction, he does so by closing every other door available. With me, I don't think he stopped at closing them. He locked them, bolted them, welded them shut, hired security teams and surrounded them with BOILING LAVA. My options were becoming very limited. I first saw the one remaining open door when one of the C&C leaders at my church said "You need to go on a missions trip." I don't like lava or security teams so I decided to take a peek through this door. What I saw was another open door and another one after that. They finally led me to apply for the Africa trip. Once that happened, all the other doors in my life started to open again. It was God's way of telling me "You're on the right path."
I leave you with the lyrics to a song that has come to mean a great deal to me lately.
To The Ends Of The Earth
Love unfailing Overtaking my heart You take me in Finding peace again Fear is lost In all you are And I would give the world to tell Your story Cause I know that You've called me I know that You've called me I've lost myself for good within Your promise I won't hide it I won't hide it Jesus, I believe in You And I would go to the ends of the earth To the ends of the earth For You alone are the Son of God And all the world will see That You are God You are God
