This could be a short one. When it comes to a race, Go is OBVIOUSLY superior. End of story. Go:1 Stay:0. Go is also easier on the fingers when it comes to writing. They are both one syllable but 'stay' is twice as long. Talk about efficiency! Go also features nice rounded letters that are pleasing to the eye. Stay can't seem to make up its mind.
Well, that's my moment of silliness. I fully expect by now that some people are skipping over the first paragraph because of my tendancy to not take it seriously. To ammend that, I'm going to write yet another bit of silliness.
Kidding.
When God calls people to be missionaries, it is one of two callings. "Go where I send you", and "Stay where I put you."
The people that are sent to another place are usually those who have fallen into a complacent state of life. They follow the same pattern every day to the point where God has no room to use them. They are comfortable and happy. These are the people that God will uproot and send to a different place so that He can use them again.
The people that are told to stay here are those who are always looking to do great things for God somewhere else. They are always travelling to this country or that conference or that inner-city mission. Not that those things are wrong but when the focus is placed on those entirely, God will pull them back and say "I need you to share my good news where you are right now."
Often times, the calling we get is not the one we want. When we get it, we fight it. Most of the people who will read this are already going where God is sending them. My question is this: What will you do if God asks you to stay put upon your return? People getting back from the missions field almost always want to head back out again. The truth is that we need missionaries here and now. Will you be willing to stay?
God bless y'all!
