...But that can't stop me from trying, eh? I decided to take Jillian's advice on posting something poetic. (Don't worry, the second monkey story is still coming.) The following are some lyrics that I wrote a number of years ago. I don't have music for them yet, and I think that some of the rhymes may feel a little forced, but the meaning of the words is what matters. I hope you enjoy it.

(Choruses in black text)

This world has brought me down

A crushing weight down to the ground

My back is bent from strain

My body shakes with pain

I toil, but without gain

Every day's the same

This body of flesh I'm trapped in

Crushing my soul from the weight of my sin

My spirit blinded by light

From just a glance at the sight

Of Your holiness and Your might

I surrender this night

I come before You on
broken knees

I humbly pray, come heal me

‘Cause in Your eyes, Your child You see

Please mend my heart and set me free

Come now Lord, lead me home

Eternity comes from You alone

When again You return

When this fallen world burns

I hope You will say on that day

"Well done, my good and faithful servant"

I bow before You with a healed heart

I will stay with You wherever you are

I will walk the path, I will stay true

‘Cause my decision is to follow You
